Ethel

Thank you for the reply and information; we have very good photos of William and Selina.

We have been able to trace the Ainger/Anger family from my Mother Kathleen Olive Anger (b1923) back to George Anger (c1761-c1842).

The problem is adding the link to Canada, especially frustrating as my Mother has met one of the relatives from Canada, albeit nearly 60 years ago!

I cannot trace any marriage/death of either Alfred Anger born 8 March 1886 or Francis Anger born June 1891; both are shown in the 1901 Census. It must have been one of these two that went to Canada, but what became of the other is unknown; my Mother certainly cannot not recall them.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul. Have found this family on 1881 1891 and 1901. I presume you have these. All seven children listed.

Marriage of William ANGER/AINGER
1871 Oct/Dec Qtr. reg in Billericay. vol 4a 271 to Selina Halls.

Birth of William 1851. July/Sept. Qtr. reg in Chelmsford (for Stock) vol 12 49.

Copy of the birth certificate would give his parents, or the marriage certificate would give his Father.

1901 has William and Selina and family as AINGER and
Frederick and his wife and family as ANGER.

Hope this is of some help. Ethel.

My Gt Grandfather Frederick William A(i)nger (1873-1957) had four brothers and two sisters.

All were born in Ingatestone, Essex, England.

We know one of the brothers went to Canada c1910 as we have photos of him in Canada and his son came over to the UK in c1949 looking to get my parents to move to Canada.

His anyone knowlege of either:

(1) Alfred Anger born 1886 and in UK Census of 1901 shown as a coach builders lad and still living in Ingatestone.
(2) Francis Anger born June 1891. He is recorded in the 1901 Census as living at home.

I have been unable to find any reference to either Alfred or Francis after the 1901 Census and neither are remembered by my mother.

Over the years the records have the family name as either Ainger or Anger. My mother name is the latter, but always pronounced "Ainger".

Any help gratefully received.
