any info on John Woods&Alice his wife.born Omskirk

trying to find info on my wifes great great grandfather John Woods& his wife Alice.
Johm was born in 1820 and his wife was born in 1825.
They were both silk hand loom weavers ,and both born in Ormskirk.
Any info on their parents would be of help.

Been having a dig for you Gordon.

Found them in 1851 living on Green Lane Ormskirk, Lancs.
John WOODS born abt 1819 Ormsk, hand loom weaver silk,
Alice WOODS born abt 1824 Ormsk,
They had no children at this time.

The only marriage I could find in Ormskirk butween 1845 and 1851 was a John Woods in 1850 Ap May June and the only Alice on the page was Alice SHOLICAR.

I did find a birth of an Alice SHOLICAR in July Aug Sep 1849 Ormskirk but I do not know if there is a connection.

John SHOLICAR 45 yrs labourer
Catherine 45 yrs
James 20 yrs, silk weaver
Alice 15 yrs (abt 1826)
Mary 10 yrs
Catherine 8 yrs
Ellen 6 yrs
John 4 yrs.

Living next door at an Inn? on Green Lane
John SHOLICAR 35 yrs
Susan, 25 yrs, wife, jobber.
Robert 6 yrs

Could not see John WOODS in 1841 ,just too many possibles.

You would need to get marriage cert for John and Alice to be sure of the above and find out John's fathers name.
