Might have been cos you had Emmas surname as Stoley..when it should have been Sloley...which you can see from her marriage entry

on the 1871 census there is a family in Kentisbury transcribed as KOLEY but I'm sure it's SLOLEY.
Head of house William 42 farmer of 65 acres, wife Ann 39 and children Eliza 15, Bessie 14, Emma 11, Elizabeth 7, Mary 5, William H 3 and Lucy 11 months. The address just says Patchole and the name above William senior is Thomas STOLEY widower age 75 retired farmer who is living as a boarder .

it will give you Emma's dads name then you'll know if the 1871 is correct
