Hello Allison,

You can look up NZ BMD's at your local NZSG branch. That means you need to be an NZSG member and branch member. You can request an application to marry for them from Archives NZ which will have their length of residence.

Thanks, thats great.

How would you go about looking to see if they are NZ born or immigrants? Just request birth cert or marriage cert or is there somewhere I can look up BMD?

Hi, I am after a possible marriage around 1870-75 between Frederick Charles Hall and Elizabeth Agnes Poulter ( last name?) I am not absolutely certain they married in NZ but they had children here.

Doe anyone know if there is a index for births for 1800s? I am trying to see if Hall or Poulter families were early settlers.

Many thanks

Allison
