Find Ancestors

I am having a hard time tracing him. The only reference I have is on his sons marriage certificate. He gave his occupation as Haulierat that time and I found him on the1871 census on which his wife is Dinah but it also shows 2 stepchildren so it would appear that Dinah was his 2nd wife. I cannot find any marriages for him in records and nothing in births that fits. Any help would be greatly appreciated
