Ann, I had already looked for the marriage of Samuel & Sarah on BVRI. No luck, I'm afraid. There's no marriage of a Samuel Norris & Sarah anywhere anytime.
The only child of Samuel & Sarah in Downton was the Thomas 1797 that you have.
The only Samuel, born in Downton that could be him is this one but he would have been 54 when son Thomas was born. (Not impossible!)

NORRIS, Samuel Christening
Gender: Male
Christening Date: 21 Nov 1743 Recorded in: Downton, Wiltshire, England
Father: Samuel NORRIS
Mother: Elizabeth
Source: FHL Film 1279375 Dates: 1601 - 1904

Wish I could be more help, Ann.

Dear Margaret thank you for helping me! but i don't think that was the Samuel Norris I was looking for. Margaret could I be very cheeky and ask for your help again? sorry to be such a pain!!!
Margaret the Samuel Norris I am looking for was Married to a Sarah and I do no that they had a son called Thomas Norris 1797 in Downton Wiltshire, i am so sorry that i do not have any dates on Samuel or Sarah [please do not worry about it if it is to much for you to research i do understand] but if you do find the date of Samuel's birth then that would be fantastic. Thank you Margaret and sorry for being so long winded.
