I need some matchsticks to prop my eyelids open :-(

I am up at an ungodly hour on Saturday morning because the plumber said he was coming to service the boiler between 8 and 8.30am. No sign of him of course :-|

There is a hard white frost outside. so I definitely should still be tucked up in bed

Young Susan must be sleeping in

Goodnight Tec

I suppose if it's in a good cause, but must be hell for the nearby neighbours.

Do you think Christmas has all gone a bit tacky?

I do......

but then I'm a cantankerous old goat - so I would :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 23:15

There is a bungalow in a nearby village which is amazing, people come from all over to see it and they raise a lot of money for charity

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 23:11

I passed a large double fronted house today, after dark.

Honestly, it looked like Vegas, and I'm sure it can be seen from space - it was incredible,

Lovely - if you enjoy that kind of thing, and can afford the electricity bill,

Bah Humbug :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 23:07

Stop being an old grump, you know you want to festoon the house :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 22:58

They think I am strange enough as it is. :-D
One has to be careful in a small Welsh village,

What they don't know about you - they make up :-D

I will be in serious trouble if the tree isn't up when my daughter gets here.

Do hope that she doesn't start dragging stuff out, because I'll have to put it all away after

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 22:54

Well you will have to have the house decorated before your daughter comes.

Having flashing fairy lights on your scooter sounds good, I am sre all the villagers would love to see it :-D

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 22:41

It's going to be minus 1 here on the coast.
There is snow on the mountains - I could see it from my bathroom window today.

My daughter and SIL are going down to Southampton on Sunday to pick grand daughter up from Uni.

She is in Toulouse at the moment, visiting boyfriend - gets back on Sunday.

The following weekend they are coming here, and we are going out for Christmas Dinner - that will be nice.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 22:36

Oh good, it is going to be minus four tonight

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 22:33

Yes Linda................... :-(

I could do a parade through the village on my scooter all lit up :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 22:30

I am sure someone will get them for you, you need to decorate your wheelchair with tinsel, you could have some battery fairy lights on it

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 22:26

Yes I could - but they're all up the top, and I can't get up there. Haven't been up there in over a year.

My dining room furniture is all up there - that can come down in the Spring.

I wish my little fan club were still here, they could have all the Christmas baubles etc.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 22:22

Oh yes, I remember you have bought a fibre optic one, it will look pretty. You can still put your baubles on the mantlepiece and hearth, you can make an artistic display

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 22:19

I've been spared dragging out all the Christmas stuff this year.

Used to spend two days decorating a big tree. Now I've bought one with fibre optic lights. Take it out of its box - plug it in, and job done.

Last Christmas Sue next door and the lady from the shop turned up three days before Christmas to do it for us.
Sue noticed I hadn't done it, but I wasn't well enough, and couldn't be bothered.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 22:14

We haven't put the tree up yet, I suppose it could go up soon

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 22:11

I shouldn't grumble really. Living here beyond the fringe, we largely escape the madness of Christmas. The crowds and queues at the supermarket - the living hell of Tesco's :-D
People from here who want all that travel inland to Chester, or Shrewsbury.

I shall stay here and hide. :-D

Might put my tree up this weekend

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2014 22:02

There were only two positions open in the two post offices I went to as well. One was the main post office in the large nearby town, there was a massive queue :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Dec 2014 21:57

There are only two ladies behind the PO counter - one is elderly. They looked so harassed I felt sorry for them, and that is in a small town. What must it be like in the Cities?
