I've just acquired entitled WHAT IF

Its a series of debates about huge incidents in time....

Example, what if Pontius Pilate had spared Jesus?

What if Hitler had won the war?

Lillian's story was ok. Got a bit bored towards the end as I kept getting confused by all the family lol...but the early years were interesting x

Hello fellow readers :-)

Have finished Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel,
enjoyable read for anyone into history and
am now onto Abandoned Women by Lucy
Frost.....am feeling so sad for these women
who were transported to Van Diemens island,
but more so for their children, very sad stories.

It's a really easy read Mersey. Let me know what you made of it lol x

I nwatch it when I remember. Don't much like Anne Robinson but she is okay in this.

An interesting selection of guests, plus a really good selection of books.
Especially as the books the guests chose are from various periods of their life (including childhood)
Any moe "Just William" fans out there?

Has anybody been watching "My Life in Books" on BBC2 with Anne Robinson?

Its about 2 well known people who pick their favourite books and discuss why they have been important to them through their lives.....

I always record this programme as find very interesting :-)

Hiya Tess

I recently bought The Historian from a charity shop whilst looking for books for some research I'm doing at the moment. Enjoying the book so far. I'm onto section two and the plot is thickening!! :-S :-0 x

If anyone wants to try a different genre, Triple Alpha (an eBook) by D. Scothern one of a few by this indie author is a good read.

Stayed up til nearly 3am this morning to finish The Art Of Racing In The Rain....found myself laughing and crying in turn ! Fantastic book. I'm an unashamed dog lover which I think may have added to my enjoyment....Some have said they found it a bit trite ...but not me...I thought it was so well written even the more unlikely parts didn't really register for me....I truly want to believe what Enzo (the dog) learnt by watching the Discovery channel (lol)...and that's the Mongolian belief that the dog''s next incarnation is as a human if they have learnt enough as a dog....sounds like a plan to me ! x
