Re Ian Crawford

Do you have additional details such as the names of his parents, siblings or wife? Did he have a middle name?

Searching on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl there are a number of births 1937-1940 (in case you've estimated the year). Some have middle initials.

There is one birth in 1939 in the Brighton reg area. Of course, living in Sussex doesn't mean he was born in the county.

The area covered by Brighton can be found here
http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/brighton.html

Click on the underlined place names for a further break-down.

There is a possibilty that Margaret died earlier this year. Of course, it could be a different Margaret!

JENNER MARGARET
Date of Probate 14 May 2015
Probate Number 4582030
Date of death 24 March 2015
Document Type Grant and will
Registry Brighton

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills
If the Probate was administered by a local firm, they would probably have sent it to the Brighton Probate Office. There isn't one in Kent.

You could search for Robert on
http://www.searchelectoralroll.co.uk/Electoral_Roll_Search.asp
and write to the Cranbrook address. The current occupiers or heirs may be able to fill you in.

If you look on FreeBMD you will see Robert married in ashford Kent reg district in 1956 to a Margaret

They are on the electoral rolls to 2014 in Cranbrook Kent although looking for Robert he is listed to 2013 whereas looking for Margaret it goes to 2014

My guess would be Robert may have passed in 2013
