What a shame Evelyn....... :-( :-( :-(

Never mind, we will hold the party in your honour and you can read all about it when you get back.... :-D :-D

Reece, that sounds lovely - meringues are one of my favourites. I'm glad you're doing some flowers because I can't arrange a daffodil in a milk bottle!!

The new recliner and bed arrived yesterday. The bedroom looks lovely - even if I say so myself ;-)

Trouble is, OH was too tired to experiment with the bed controls last night so ended up sleeping comfortably in his original recliner which is in the bedroom!! sheeeesh.

Must go - taking my daughter and my friend out this afternoon. <3

Good day to all my friends,
Sadly I will not be able to attend the party on Saturday as I will not be on line I will send lots of good Guernsey cream and some lovely tomatoes and butter and some super Guernsey cheese for you all, I hope you all have a wonderful time.
I shall be in Beaconsfield with family, I have a friend house sitting for me.
Love to you all

Hello everyone,

That all sounds very exciting - food sounds lovely - shall I add some strawberries and cream and some meringues to crush up and mix with them. Here it is called "Eton Mess"!!!

So hot today - oh thunderstorms, Anne, not more of them. Susan, promise, please, that it won't rain on Saturday.

Will bring a couple of big baskets of flowers for decoration, too. Lots of pretty coloured and floral paper napkins to wipe our fingers on! Anything else?

Will work out what to wear tomorrow - too tired just now.

Lots of love,

Reece <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Rain - who said rain - its blisteringly hot here - we reached 32 degrees yesterday & today should be hotter so they tell us.

However we are going to thave thunderstorms on Friday - just ready for the Olympics.

Well everyone in the Uk should listen out on Friday morning

To mark the first official day of the London 2012 Games, thousands of bells will ring out across the land this Friday 27 July

Most impressively, Big Ben will chime continuously for three minutes, the first time it has broken its regular sequence since the funeral of George VI in 1952.

The aural spectacle, called simply All The Bells, is the conception of artist Martin Creed, and forms perhaps the noisiest part of the London 2012 Festival. It’s hoped the stunt will break the word record for simultaneous bell ringing, with people joining in all across the country.

The mass tintinnabulation takes place between 8.12am and 8.15am on Friday, and anyone can join in with bike bells, door bells, or anything else with a chime or bong.

To join in you have to go online and register

We in theory will be in the car on the way to the Outlaws for the day - not quite what I had in mind when i booked the actual day off - but never mind

Gives me more time to get ready for the party

Really looking forward to the party at the weekend - it will be good to all get together again.

Frank never opened my message - I can try Wayne on email again -

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

It is still very cold here ...last night it was minus 2c for us that is cold .

I might need more than a couple of red wines to warm up on the 28th.

Can we put the word out to Frank and wayno to join us..it would be nice to get some of the old crowd around again .

How are the Olympics going over there it all looks like it is coming together Ok.......hope the rain does not spoil it .

I am busy getting the Barbie and all the outdoors ready for our big bash.

Going shopping with the OH now ...this will cost me a packet.

Looks as though things are well underway! Evelyn, I'd forgotten all about lamingtons!! Do you remember when Wayne dropped in from the air?? :-D

A silver limo it is.......maybe with purple balloons ???

I still don't know if I am coming or going.....

Have been crawling around the floor sorting out plugs and wires ready for my OH's new electric recliner.

Have cleaned some bits of the front bedroom which I didn't realise were so grubby :-0

The new recliner and the adjustable bed arrive tomorrow so I have had to make sure that everything is right.

The new chair/bed I ordered for daughter to sleep on at weekends arrived this morning. Far too big :-( Going back :-( At least we'll get a refund :-D
She may be in a sleeping bag at this rate........... :-S

Going off soon to buy a quilt cover for OH's new bed.

Must go ~~~~

Sue - the weather will warm up for the day - Virtual weather is the best possible.

Ok - everyone bring a CD or 2 and we can all have some of our music.

I will bring over some steaks/burgers/minted lamb and veggies for the BBQ and a few salads and dips - fruit pavlova to go with the cheesecake

Evelyn can you bring some of that wonderful cream from the CI

I think we will have to buy the booze when we get there - air pressure makes thing go pop sometimes.

Its great to see everyone up for the party again

Private jet arranged - anyone else from the Uk want to jump on baoard or do you all have your own methods -

Cynthia - I think you have just made your self party co-ordinator

****************************************************************************

Cynthia - sounds like you are rearranging your house for the bed & chair -

Robert - you sound like my OH - since he has been home more he has been doing a lot of the housework

Hope your wife will be up to enjoying the party

Must go have a cat trying to pull my washing off the whirly thingy - thought my dressing gown was a bit low - he is playing with the sleeves and trying to hang on them. he is quite a new cat to the area & quite young, beautiful and sleek pure black - called Beckham - he seems very playful.

Be back late

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone

Cynthia I have been glued to the Tour De France we always enjoy it .

Wiggins has deserved his win ,our man Kadel Evans struggled this year but we can't expect him win every year.

Glad you can all make it for the party .

Evelyn I will make some lamingtons for you .

Robert no dishes to do the dishwasher can do them, usually here when we have a barbie the other guest bring some sort of salad,ie; Potatoe salad ...cold slaw..pasta salad and just a normal platter of Lettuce Tomatoes and Cucumber.

I might make a nice cheese cake too my Brother loves that .

It is still quite cold here but if we rug up and with a few Red wines under our belts we should be fine.

Unloading the trailor load of wood from yesterday so better get back to it,drop in later.

Did someone say Party????? About time too!

Sorry, have been here and there sorting bedrooms out ready for my OH's new bed and chair which arrive this week.

Have washed and ironed enough bedding for the street!

Got my son and a mate to move the spare double bed.

Scanned and sent some pictures of olden days to a friend of OH's whom he hasn't seen for about 50 years.

Have been in touch with a rellie who is a translator and fluent in Russian to ask him to translate something for another friend.

The rellie then asks me what I have on the family history!! Emailed him some census with his grandparents on.

And.....to really, really, annoy me, my desktop computer where I do all my scanning etc., has been running very slow. I'm hoping I've sorted things now though.

All in all, my head is in a whirl so, yes, a party would be great.

So.....we're at Sue's for a bbq?

Theme - Olympics?

Sally is catching salmon? (don't get that wheelchair wet!)

Robert is washing up?

Reece is seeing to the decorations?

Sylvia is pretty good at food.........hint, hint but we will all chip in

I'll order a limo to pick up the birthday girl shall I? What colour?

I'll bring lots of nibbles.

Who would like to tackle the music then?

28th?

Sylvia..........are you going to be wearing those red high heels again? We don't want to shock the menfolk too much.

Arthur, could you help Sue to set up the bbq?

All and any ideas welcome.

Okay folks......the party preparations are underway........ :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hi Everyone

Ok my place it is then, just bear in mind it is winter here so we won't be swimming in the pool...the barbie I can do.

I have a big wood burner going all the time so Robert can sit around that.

I hope you can all make it with the time difference and all.

I Wonder if we can get Frank back for a reunion.

Off to bed now .. it has been a big day.

Tabitha Report 21 Jul 2012 14:13

Sue - Are you sure you want to go to london - 2nd day of the Olympics - its going to be a nightmare

Aparently if it normally takes you 3 mins to get across London - during the Olympics its going to be aroun 3 hours - then if you have a ticket for an event - its going to take a minimum of an hour to get through the 3 security hubs - if you pass you get to the 4th security hub - thats when they check your ticket is Kosher and do a final security swipe of you & your belongings.

By the sound of things you are not allowed to take any food or drink in & you have to go through 4 security checks on the way out as well. No wonder they need so many security staff & troops

Hows this for a giggle - one of our clients wanted to hire a helicopter for 4 hours so he could hover over the stadium to watch the opening ceremony as he couldn't get a ticket. that gave us a good laugh.

Robert - nothing to do with "making up our minds" its a chance for everyone to have their say - its our party - so we all add our ideas.

Sylvia - I am surprised - didn't think we made that much mess - I know we lost Evelyn & Frank for a while - I thought we found all the champagne bottles in the end after the hunt the bubbly game.

Sue as you have guests - do you want to run the barbi - shall we all pop over to you and have a barbi & pool party with the Olympic theme. Can you make sure there is a shell somewhere for Robert to hide in.

You provide the venue and we bring the food & drink

Its all still open to options - nothing from Cynthia yet.

Sally - you will need to make sure your Motorised wheelchair is well charged - its a long way to travel.

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
