Never mind, I can watch it on iplayer if I remember!!!

We've really been enjoying the new version of Sherlock and hope they bring back another series.

Yes Sally, I do like the new tree format. It really isn't that difficult. Give yourself some time to play around with the features and I think you will soon get used to it. :-D

It's been a funny sort of day weatherwise

.......cold....sunny.....windy....dark...bright.....wet....dry......very mixed up indeed.. :-S

Can't wait for Spring....... :-D :-D :-D :-D

Evelyn - lovely to see you pop in for a visit - its still very early days yet - just take your time.

It will be lovely with your daughter visiting for a few days.

Very chilly here still - bit grey today - it started so well - lovely blue sky at 8am.

Hopeing for a lotto win as no overtime - goodness only knows how the bills will all get paid - not even any part time jobs going either.

Well thats enough of the depression talking.

Glad eveyone is feeling better and all up & about again

Did any one see "Call the Midwife" on Sunday? it was very good.

Well off for a look around now - while I eat my bacon sarnie.
As you can see I have a healthy lunch - not.

Take care all - <3 <3 <3 <3 ;-) ;-) ;-)

Evelyn,it's nice to hear from you. It will take a long time to get over your loss, it took my mother quite a while to get over the loss of my father, but as she told me it did get easier over time. Take care.

It will be lovely for you to have your daughter's company for a few days.

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all OK.

Love, Sallie.xx

Hello Everyone,
Just to let you know I am still in the land of the living.
I have been VERY busy with paper work etc, also doing the inevitable of sorting out Ron,s clothes etc, not a pleasant task as every outfit brings memories flooding back and so come the tears, several people offered to help with the task but I felt I owed it to my Mr Grumpy to do the task myself, i have nearly finished with the clothes, his watches I have given to his brother also cuff links etc.
I begin to think I am feeling better and then I get all weepy again, if I dont improve soon I shall go to the doctor and ask for some help though I hate taking pills without good need, I will give it another couple of weeks and see how I feel then.
My daughter is coming to the island tomorrow for 3 days so that will be nice for me, something pleasant to look forward to.
It seems very strange not to be at a clinic or hospital appointment, truthfully cancer does take over your life.
Thank you one and all for your support, I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
Much love to you all

Thank you all for your kind thoughts - will let you know

This GR system is getting to be a bit of a pain sometimes - had three postings all at the same time - deleted 2 & still there was another one.

Thnak you Cynthia - managed to git rid of the hiccups.

What wonderful neighbours you have Sylvia - don't think we would have that over here - - they don't even clear their own paths let alone the pavements.

I could do with some warmth now - its very cold today - but warming up by wednesday so they say - at the moment I have some snowdrops - my friend has daffs out - in January !!!! We also have a few baby lambs around & baby birds - if we get another heavy frost like this morning they won't survive - nature is all upside down again at the moment .

Hows the work going Josie?

Well back to work - its all fun fun fun

Take care all ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hi Everyone

Just had another Barbie and I think it must be the last of visitors to us for a while I am very glad to say.

We have the School holidays over Christmas here and the kids get 6 weeks off ,being a holiday town that we live in you can imagine how busy it is with all the holiday makers in town.

The Granddaughter is getting quite big now as she is 6 mths pregnant ,we have collected a lot of baby cloths for her from various rellies ,it is going to be the most best dressed baby ever I think.

I hope we don't have what your friend had with the baby ...don't think I can remember what to do ,I would be terrified

Anne good luck with the interview and think positive, sending positive thoughts.

Happy to report it has cooled off a bit the last two days sitting around 27c that's enough for me .

The snow sounds lovely Sylvia but I hope you don't get to much of it being on your own.

Well I have a massive pill of dishes to do so I am off to do my wifely duties ;-).

See you all tomorrow.

Beautiful hot Sunny day here, barely a breeze, forecast says we can expect this weather all week :-D :-D
Wild windy weather front has gone, thank goodness.

Glad to hear that a kind neighbour cleared your path for you Sylvia.

Thankfully The only thing we need to do over here is to ensure we get our Household rubbish down to edge of the footpath [side-walk] for the weekly Council rubbish collection.

Anne THINK POSITIVE , YOU ARE NOT GOING TO STUFF UP THIS INTERVIEW you deserve this Promotion, and you are going to get it.
looking forward to hearing the good news in a few days.

Catch you all later Josie :-) :-) :-) <3

Hi all
xx

Another 1-2 cm of snow, now almost all gone on sidewalks and roadways ..... but not on grass, roof tops etc.

Just went to make my lunch, and peered out the front window to see that some kind neighbour has shovelled my garden path and front side walk :-D

There is a city bylaw that says that all house owners or renters, apartment building owners or managers, and all business establishments HAVE to clear snow from sidewalks in front of and beside the property, and garden paths and driveways on the property, by 10 am after a snowfall. Penalty ... a hefty fine.

I wasn't too worried about 1-2 cm, because it soon goes when the sun shines (the front of the house faces north). But I was getting a little worried with OH being away ..... if we get a dump, I can't shovel it.

We do all help each other out round here ...... so wasn't that nice of the "unknown" neighbour? :-D :-D

More snow and flurries are forecast for every day between now and Wednesday ......... I'm just hoping the heaviest dump doesn't come on Tuesday when I have to go to the special physio :-( I don't drive, so have to ride the buses ........... and it takes at least 2, sometimes 3, buses each way.

I sure hope that the Mum had some idea of what to do :-D :-D

Hope you get rid of the hiccups soon Anne :-D :-D Hope all goes well with the interview.

It's chilly over here too Sylvia. Not quite down to freezing but still cold brrrr.

A friend phoned on Thursday to say that her daughter had had a little girl that morning.........she and her husband had to deliver it themselves as the baby arrived so quickly :-0 Fortunately the first time mum is a doctor so, hopefully, had a good idea of what to do..... :-S

I do hope we will see Evelyn back with us when she feels ready...... <3

Meanwhile.....love to all <3 <3 Cx.

Morning all - bright & frosty in the south - lovely blue sky - lots of aircraft tracks.

I have to admit - i would love to move to the Southern hemisphere - if only we had the money to do it - we are too old to be able to move any other way.

I really feel like I want to make a fresh start somewhere - if only I had the opportunity. Waiting for the gods to smile down on us in 2012.

Well tomorrow is suppose to be the most miserable day of the year - the way we feel at the moment - I would agree with them.

Hopefully i have the day off on the 23rd it would have been my mums 90th birthday. Its 20 years in April since i lost her & we got together. Seems only like yesterday. Time flies so quickly.

I am a glutton for punishment - I have agreed to go for the promotion interview again - its a year ago since i mucked it up last time - I never seem to learn - Can i ask you to keep your fingers crossed for me - not sure which day it is yet - but should be this week.

Well better go & start the Sunday lunch

I hope everyone is keeping fit & well.

Reece have you recovered yet?

Evelyn - I hope things are settling down a little more for you now - pop in when you feel ready - we are all here for you.

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi all
xx

sunny and frosty here!

The roofs and grass were white this morning when I looked out at about 8 am.

I soon retreated back inside

Did you know ...... ..

....we have a glass screen door in front of the front, with some decorative metal work on it. If the paper "boy" (actually a mature male!) pushes the paper into that screening ............ it is possible to open the front door, then open the screen door just enough to get one arm around the edge and grab hold of the paper? :-D

Some dark clouds approaching from the south ............. errrrrrrrm .... I thought the weatherman said last night that we had an Arctic Front coming down from the north :-S :-S

Sue and Josie .... prepare for a visitor :-D

or maybe Robert has some of that whisky left ........ to warm the cockles of my heart :-D

Waiting to hear if OH has arrived ....... he was due in Manchester at about 5:45 pm UK time ......... but they then had to drive to the cousin's house. Plus have some food, as well as probably a grog or 2 or 3!

Take care

Don't the days go by quickly??? :-S

I hadn't hibernated Robert but just keep getting sidetracked - as we women do. We call it mult-tasking :-D :-D

It's beautfully bright and sunny at the moment but the temperatures are dropping again. :-(

I've just been to put some clothes out on the line - in the sunshiney bit - and when I looked up, the sky is a clear blue and there was an aircraft making it's way to Manchester airport. I nearly waved in case it was Sylvia's OH :-D :-D

I had hoped today was going to be a restful day but, as I try to get my OH out everyday (whether I want to go or not), we went off to a supermarket for a browse around. Then I found I had some ironing I hadn't done.........soon got that sorted!! Now I am free to play around for the afternoon. :-D :-D

OH got a Kindle for Christmas - guess who is the one who is going to be downloading books??? May have a play with that later and see if my favourite authors are available - for free!!!

Take care all. Cx.
