Suddenly it is all happening - I thought you had all hibernated - but good that you are all recovering from the Christmas/New Year blues.

Frosty here in the North East of England but with beautiful sunshine.

Sylvia, You could come to my place
those are the temps we are having at the moment

you would unfortunately have to put up with wind gusts up to 120kms which we are currently experiencing as well. An extreme Weather warning has been in place over the entire Country for the last couple of days.
Lots of wind and rain but summer heat and the sunshine every now and then :-D
Susan if you want some S***W why not head to Melbourne, heard on the Radio yesterday that they had S***W in the hills around the City. It's Supposed to be Summer??? :-S

Hi all
xx

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes xxxx

OH has left for the UK, and should arrive in London about 9 am Friday morning ........ his cousin died Wednesday last week. It was not unanticipated (recurrence of cancer), but not expected to happen so quickly. She went into a rapid deterioration around Christmas.

He only has 2 cousins ........ and only M was biological. Her parents were told they couldn't have children, so they adopted a baby boy ........... and then she arrived 11 months later!

She turned 65 last November, just one month before OH's sister also turned 65 ..... the 2 girls basically grew up together, while OH was the big cousin. They were all very close.

The service will be next Tuesday, and OH will return home next Thursday. I decided to stay home .... I honestly couldn't take the flight with such a short respite before doing the return journey.

We now have lower temperatures .... and the s*** word is in the forecast for this weekend, and possibly early next week.

Take care, everyone

Cynthia - I had to read your message three times before i found the mistake - i put that down to age & that I am suffering from a bout of Stupidity at the moment (as well as a few other things)

Looks like I am not working this weekend either - don't know what my bank balance and body with make of it at all

Well only a flying visit just to show you i do still exist & i am not just a figment of your imagination.

Keep up the good work

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

It's my age indeed!! Humph.........I knew who I meant really . ;-) :-D

Josie.....sounds a great idea. Really hope it works well for you. Keep us posted.

If I only ate sausages when I went to a barby, I would never eat them I guess! I rarely buy them from a supermarket as I prefer the ones made at our local butchers. Don't eat them often but I do keep some in the freezer for emergencies.

I reckon your body didn't know what had hit it when it rested Anne - you'll have to get it into practice - more rest needed. :-D

Hi Robert......~~~~~~ good to see you. I don't know my whiskey from my whisky, but I like a man who does....... :-D

When I logged on this morning, I discovered I had been turfed out of here and was a Free Member!!!!! I couldn't post or do anything on the boards.

Seems my renewal is due but I hadn't received the email alert to that fact. GR had simply tried to take the money from my account but were unable to. As I have been a continuous member since 2003, I presume the original card had gone out of date which messed things up.

I was not happy but it has been sorted out smoothly. As I have had continuous membership for so long, I pay £9.95 per annum which I find well worth it.

Going to watch Only Connect......hope all are well or at least recovering.....Cx. <3

Well done Josie - wish I had the nerve to branch out - must PM you later to get a few tips and thoughts if thats ok.

Robert nice to know you still have a bit of the good stuff left.

Cynthia & Susan still doing all the cooking - can't really think of BBQ's at this time of year - far too cold.

Been very busy here - had a few days off over Christmas - think I over the did the rest & relaxation a bit - body not use to it - so I was ill at the weekend - couldn't cope with not working all sorts of hours & times or being on call all the time.

See i told you its not good all this free time.

OH still not got a lot of work - so an internet thingy may be good for him as well Josie - if you don't mind me asking a few questions - promise not to steal your trade.

Well better go - have a meeting to attend at 2

Susan,
i am trying to keep quiet about the Whisky (without the e. WhiskEy is Irish.)

Half the bottle is left ,now only for special occasions.

3000 bottles of this malt were issued in the UK so it is unlikely that I will get another like it.

There are 2 or 3 on Ebay for up to £200. I paid £49.99 but I would not have sold it under any circumstances.

Love to all.

:-D :-D :-D BIRTHDAY GREETINGS SYLVIA :-D :-D :-D

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to hear that many of you have been 'under the weather of late'.

As Susan mentioned a lot of Earthquake Activity again, sadly in Christchurch which is still trying to recover from the big Quake last February, where they had . 5.4 followed by a 6 on the Afternoon before Christmas Eve.
Luckily the buildings that would have come toppling down, following this had all been demolished.

But the suburbs that suffered liquefaction back in Feb , then in June were hit again with their houses once again being flooded with silt and mud that came bubbling up from under ground.

Then after a week of continuous little quakes Christchurch had another 5.8 quake on News Year Day.
Since last Feb over 6,000 people have left Christchurch for good. Many abandoning there Homes and Businesses. Those unable to leave are finding live extremely stressful.

Christchurch has not stopped shaking since the big . 7 Quake in Sept 2010 and no one can say whether there will be more big shakes or when the activity will die down.

Well it is the New Year, and I have been out of work for 7 months with only one possible job prospect in late Jan.
So I have launched out and started my own Business. It is going to take a while before I can make a living from it, But it is perfect at my time of life as
I am running this from home.

I have opened what is known as an 'A Store' on line and have become
involved with Associate Marketing for Amazon.

I have my own Website [ http// itastic.newsolutionsmall.com ] this is my temp web address while I finish off my website and register my own Domain Name.

My Business 'Finding Great Grandad' is selling Geneology Books and Family Tree Programmes including , Geneology books for Kindles as well as Kindles.
I make a percentage on all sales of these items when someone clicks through to Amazon on any of the item links on my web page.

I went on an Internet marketing course about 8 years ago but was unable to afford having a Web site build back then, so never went ahead with it.

But have wanted a legitimate Online Business since then, so am happy that I finnaly found something that does not involve' Spamming or Scamming'

Hope you guys will take the opportunity to visit my site, just don't put www. in front of the name like I did initially and could not figure out why my site would not show up.
I am still in the process of building [the site is already open for business] and hope in a couple of months to have lots of content pertaining to Family Research.

Catch you all later Josie

Reece, I hope your boiler is installed before any colder weather arrives. I'm sure you'll feel the benefit from though. :-D

It hasn't been too bad today weatherwise and I actually got some washing dry outside. :-D

Sue glad that you are now back to normal and more organised after Christmas. I didn't buy as much food this year as I have in other years, but I still bought too much, although there wasn't any that wasted. I gave half of it to my daughter as her and her hubby spent Christmas Day and Boxing Day between here and her mother-in-law's house. I told them not to buy much as they could have some of the food from here. I tried to save them money as son-in-law's wage isn't
very high.

I hope you don't mind me asking what you are having done to your eyes? Sorry to be nosy.

Cynthia, I mean't to watch the programme about Queen Mary and forgot about it. Hopefully it will be repeated some other time.

Reeece, pleased to hear that you had a nice Christmas, apart from having a bad cold.

We are having a new gas boiler put in on Monday and Tuesday. Just hope the weather won't be too cold, I shall be glad when it's all done. We then have the landing, stairs and hall to decorate, although we might leave it until a bit nearer Spring.

Hope everyone else on this thread is well.

Will speak to you again soon.

Take care.

Love, Sallie.xx

Hi Everyone

Just got back home from food shopping.

It was so good to get my fridge and pantry back to how it is supposed to look.

Sorry to see so many of you suffering from colds and you have had no Snow yet......Hee ! hee1...sorry about that ,we have cooled down a bit thank the Lord but I know there is more hot weather to come.

I am just waiting now to get my eyes done , it is all arranged and I am getting very excited now as I have never not worn glasses ever since I was a baby.

Cynthia we love a show called Coast from the Uk and watch it all the time, my OH knows the Uk better than me with all the shows he watches on the Country, that all stated on his first trip there in 1997.
That was also my first trip home since emigrating to OZ in 1966.

New Zealand have been having more Earthquakes of late no deaths that I have heard of but it must be very frightening to not know when the next one will hit.
Wa had two that I remember one was in 1968 and another in 1875,they were not very bad but gave us all a fright.
Josie is not near them I think.

Well I am off to do the dinner dishes and then put my feet up with a nice cup of tea.

We won the Cricket today ...thats two games out of two.

Love to you all .
