• Using the ‘Event type’ drop down, choose to search by the year of birth of the person you are looking for, or select ‘other event’ to search by departure year
• Too many results? Use the ‘Optional keywords’ field to add in the departure or destination port
• Not enough results? Broaden the years you are searching, tick the ‘name variants’ box in case the name has been recorded under the wrong spelling and remove any ‘Optional keywords’
