Fanny ? was married to a William Billington originally from Bradford and who I believe was a cobbler.Born around 1859,I would love to find his wife's surname to help me with my tree. They had 2 daughters Clara and Fanny

Hi,
Have just been looking again at the 1881 census for a Fanny Brook who married William Billington in 1885. It states that her mother Hannah was 36 at the time of the census. That would make her 15 when she had Fanny and 12 when she had Fred! Would an earlier census be a better idea ?

Here's hoping

Hi,
Looking at other census James was married to a Sarah Ann so possibly my earlier source had the incorrect christian name, it certainly would tally more with the childrens birth dates.

Hi Janice,
I Thanks for all the info. Looking at it all it would seem that James married twice. I have just discovered this in another branch of my family tree. I suppose it never crossed my mind that this happened, it would certainly explain why Hannah was so young on the 1881 census!
This would mean that all the kids except Frank would be to his first wife so hopefully if I traced Frank's birth certicate it should give his second wife's (Hannah) name.

Thank you so much

Hi,
I have Fanny Billingtons Birth certificate which gave her parents as William Billington and Fanny Brook. I would have to find Fanny Brooks birth certificate to find her mum's name.

Thanks
