Re: NELLIE ALTHAM & her mother MARTHA BEEVIS Hello. I want to learn more about a much loved woman who is the half-sister of my grandfather. Her name is Nellie Altham. Nellie's parents were James Altham and Martha nee Beevis. The family lived in the Bury Parish of Lancashire, England. Nellie's father James was married to Hannah (Annie) Birkett. After Hannah died in 1908 James married Martha Beevis. James and Martha were married in 1911, and their only child Nellie Altham was born about 1912. Nellie married Fred Barnes. They had no children born to them. In 1967 they lived at 38 Fir St. in Ramsbottom, Bury, Lancashire, England. Nellie died at 61 years of age, which would have been about 1973. Her husband Fred died in 1976. If anyone reading this knew Nellie or her husband Fred, I would be delighted to hear from you. I do not know much at all about Nellie's mother either. I am pretty sure that Nellie's mother was named Martha Beevis. I think Martha was married twice. Her first husband was Nellie's father James Altham. Her second husband was named Ralph Tricket. Apart from that I know almost nothing about her. Can anyone tell me more about Martha? Here's hoping. Cheerio, Christine.
