I'd be very grateful for any information on any Ada Applebys who may match the following story.

Ada Appleby had a child, Mary, illegitimately on 11 Jul 1918. She was working as a domestic servant in Portland place at the time. Ada apparently kept Mary until she was 2, when Mary was put in a children's home, and finally adopted at 2 1/2, by Thomas and Rose Robson. Did Ada die in 1920, or maybe get married?

The man Mary married was also "father unknown", so our threads through to the past are rather limited on that side of the family, and finding Ada would be a big bonus.
