I am trying to find the children of Edward Atkinson born c1857 Worsborough Yorks and his wife Amelia nee Longstaff born 1863 Middlesborough. Edward and Amelia were married in Nov 1883. My great grandfather Thomas Atkinson was born in Halifax in 1897 and was one of their sons. I can't find them anywhere on the 1901 census and I can't find his birth listed even though I have original certificate. He had siblings called James, Walter and Bella and possibly Willie and another sister. I think I have found Walter with his parents on the 1891 census in Sheffield. The rest of the children have vanished!! Please, please help.

Could this be Thomas's birth reg:
Births Jun 1897 (>99%)
Atkinson Thomas Halifax 9a 400
but as you already have the cert, I wouldn't worry too much about finding the reg.

Not having much luck in the 1901

I can only find Amelia in the 1891. What was her father's name (from the marriage cert)?

Hi Thanks for everyone's help so far. I have Amelia's birth (reg in Jan 1864). The marriage certificate shows her father to be George Longstaff, a labourer. I have info on Walter and think I may have found a brother James b1891 on the 1901 census living with another Atkinson family in Worsborough. Other than the 1891 census in Sheffield I'm stumped when it comes to finding the other children. I'd love to find Thomas most of all!

You have me worried now.........you say '1891 in Sheffield'..does that mean that the info I posted is NOT your family?

No. A thousand apologies....that's what I get for trying to anything constructive whilst having flu. You are right, I am wrong! I have Sheffield on the brain.
