Find Ancestors

Hi any advice on how to use 1911 census and costs really struggling on one side of my tree Francis Atkinson 1907 father francis william (have him as post man 1935 at son Francis wedding cert) no one knows where he was born. Was hoping to find via 1911 with 3/4 children Francis elsie Harold pos Stanley.
family were In Manchester Deansgate area
Any advice gratefully received

As for using the site.........just use the search facility in the usual way............you can put in the name/birth year.....then the name of another person who you expect to be in the household.

Have you tried looking for a birth reg'n on freebmd?

Hi Sharon,
If you google 1911 census, register and I think it is between £5-£6 to gain 50 credits. I found it very useful to fill in some blanks and found some surprises too. Happy hunting.

Thanks will check costs have tried free bmd but francis and atkinson seem common names and have no idea where he was from

To Sharon. If your rel. was a postman in 1935 you may get his civil service evidence of age certificate from Find My Past. com and that may have place of birth on it. Cost £7 I think. . Or the P.O. archives in London may have loads of info. A. Williams
