My husband is interested in finding his biological family. His birth name is Symond Jaymes Atkinson, (or some spelling variant of Atkinson). Born in October 1971 in or near Perth, Western Australia.
We are assuming that Atkinson is his mother's name, but are not sure.
He's a redhead.
Any advice on where else to look would be appreciated.

Hi Katharine.

A birth this late ( 1971) would most likely not be searchable to the average person i would think, as it falls within the Australian Privacy act laws.
Most Australian births "that are searchable" for individual States stop at around 1920s and some states less.

Have you tried Adoptian Jigsaw ( founded in Perth Western Australia ) which may be of help.
