i am trying to trace my father's family. His name was John George Atkinson born on 5 June 1922. He was born in Sunderland; his parents were Joseph Atkinson and (I think) Victoria Elizabeth Atkinson (nee Glenwright). He had an two older brothers Albert and Joseph and two older sisters, Mary and Edith. Joseph had two children, Brian and Brenda, Mary had two children, Billy and Christine and Edith had two children, Kenneth (known as Kenny) and Doreen. My father married Olive Davison in 1941 and he left shortly thereafter to serve in the army - in Burma. My brother Ernest, was born in 1947, my sister Eileen in 1949 and me in 1950. I know that my father and his family lived in Johnson Street Sunderland and my mother lived in Gill Bridge Avenue. I would love to try and trace my father's family; he was a truly wonderful man and it would be lovely to find his roots. Sue Mason (nee Atkinson)
