Trying to find Atkinson

Hi, I am Carolyn Atkinson, married to David Atkinson in Melbourne, Australia. I have been searching family history for only a short while, but have had some amazing success. The Atkinson family history was almost non existent until I was given a family photo album with so very few names, dates and places of birth, however, like a dog with a bone, I worked that little book and with the help of the familysearch site, now have a family history back to the early 16th Century in Bolton By Bowland, Yorkshire England. Our Atkinsons were mostly around Scarborough and Pickering. Sorry to be long winded but the ships surgeon Edward Leicester Atkinson for Scott's expedition to the Antarctic is a relation but I can not get him to attach to our tree. Does anyone know anything about him and his father of the same name. I have one tree where they fit, but it doesn't want to attach to our tree!! Perhaps some judicious grafting!!? I would love to hear from any relatives. Cheers, Carolyn
