Hello I looking to find other descendants of SAMUEL BIRCH ATKINSON (b.c.1837) and his wife MARIA ASHWORTH (b.c.1836). I presume that SBA was born in Nottingham, and MA close to Manchester. They lived for a while in Manchester and had many children, and later moved to Preston and had more, including SAMUEL BIRCH ATKINSON JR, EDWARD ATKINSON, and my great-grandfather HENRY BIRCH ATKINSON. The other children born in Manchester that I know to have existed are JAMES BIRCH ATKINSON, ANN LEE ATKINSON, MARY B ATKINSON, and STEPHENSON ATKINSON. SBA Senior died in 1925, and MA in 1900. My great-grandfather HBA founded with his brother Edward a motor company, Atkinson & Co. with George Hunt in Preston in 1907 which later evolved into Seddon-Atkinson Ltd. HBA later fell out with his brothers and family contact was presumably severed. I have more information if anyone thinks there's a link. S Wilkinson |
