Matilda Davis (MD) born c 1850 married Henry Benton (HB) who was a brass founder in the Birmingham area. He died and Susanna Matilda Benton (MSB) (thier daughter) was adopted by John Pattinson Kirk (JPK) and they lived in Carshalton in Surrey.

MD then married William Voce (WV) and they had four children. MSB married Henry Edwards and they had two children - Leslie and Kenneth. Leslie was my father. I was born in 1941 and saw my father's photo for the first time in 1985 ( I never knew him). About a month ago I found cousins on his side so now have more photos of him and his mother, brother also for the first time.

WV and HB were obviously work colleagues and friends and when HB died, WV was in line for the marriage to MD.

Sorry about al the initials - I hope this all leads to a connection.
