Member Since: December 2006 Posts: 1 Send Message	I am trying to find anyone who knows of my grandmother Elsie Birch born around 1899 and died around 1938 I believe she was born out of wedlock into a family who either managed or owned a shoe factory in Leicester. She was 'taken in' by the Birch family who lived at Holmebank cottages in Mayfield near Ashbourne Staffordshire they bought her up as their own child. Elsie later married Thomas Hudson of Ashbourne and lived in Ashbourne until her death. She and Tom had 2 sons John (known as Jack) and Frederick.
