My grandfather was ALFRED BROOK(E)S. I know very little about him but would like to know more so I can fill in the huge hole in my tree. All I know is that he was an engineer, he came from the Peterborough area(though I don't think he was born there) and that he worked for Peter Brotherhood Ltd.I think he was born around 1905(approxiamately). In 1938/39 he was sent up to Scotland by the company to the shipyards on the Clyde where he met my grandmother, Mary Christie. My mother was born in 1939 and was named Olive after someone in his family. He was unable to marry her as he was married already(and may have had a family). My grandmother died 10 months later and my mother was adopted. Any information would be useful Thanks, Karen |
