I am doing some research for a friend, and I am trying to find anyone who has the following in their tree, from 1871 census. Elizabeth BUDD - mother Robert BUDD - son Emma BUDD - daughter John BUDD - son Britton BUDD - son Statiamiah BUDD - daughter Albert BUDD - son My friend is descended from Statiamiah, also spelt - Stachamira This family were all born in New Shoreham, Sussex. In this census the family are living at Paradise Cottages, Surry Street, Shoreham, Sussex. Statiamiah was married twice. First to Frank Albert CHAMBERS and then Benjamin Jacob WHITTINGTON It is from the latter marriage that my friend comes down from. I would love to hear from anyone who can throw any light on this, especially with such an unusual name. I would also like to know where this name comes from and what it means if poss. Thanks Irene |
