I'm trying to find some more information about John BURN, b. 1849 in Sunderland, County Durham, England. His parents were William Burn & Jane Lonsdale. Thought to have emigrated to Lyttleton, New Zealand c.1879, but cannot find this in the known passenger lists. His profession was a Carpenter/Joiner. Had 2 marriages: 1st marriage at age 40 (c.1889) in Melbourne, Australia, the wife died in 1892, cause unknown. No known children, nor is the wife's name known. 2nd marriage at age 55 (c.1904) in Wellington, NZ, with 3 children through the second, (Stanley, Leslie & Elsie). John died 3/5/1926 in Wellington, NZ Will appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Thanks, Colin Townsend |
