Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me? I am looking for any information about a Maria Bury b.1880 probably in Blackburn Lancashire. Maria married Robert Smith b.1874 in Blackburn. They had the following children: Betsy, Margaret, Mary Ellen, William, Henry, Harry, Robert, Albert and Rose. I am not certain of her father's name, but he was listed as Samuel Bury (a spinner). She was adopted by George Sharples b1834 and Jane Butterworth b.1838 who owned the Druid's Arms on Sharples Street in Blackburn. I believe they also adopted a second girl, though I'm not sure what her name was or whether she was actually Maria's sister. George Sharples parents were Alexander Sharples b.1808 and Sarah (unknown) b.1806, and his siblings were Ellen, Betty, Alexander, Thomas and Mary Ann. Jane Butterworth's parents were William Butterworth b.1800 and Mary (unknown) b.1799, and her siblings were James, Henry, William, John and Mary. Any information would be most appreciated, Bronwyn
