I am looking for information on my paternal grandfather, James Henry Cairns, and his immediate relatives. He was born on the 17th of July, 1903 and lived first in Ford Street then in Brinkburn Avenue, Gateshead, County Durham.

His parents were John Cairns (b 1863) and Jane Douglass, formerly Miller (b 1866). He was the youngest of seven children: George (b 1888), Ellen (b 1890), John (b 1893), Rose (b 1896), Mary (b 1897), Jane (b 1899) and James.

He was a master baker and married Mary Keyes on the 18th of April, 1927. They had two sons (Oswald in 1928 - my father, and George around 1930) and a daughter, Mary around 1932.

My paternal grandmother Mary Keyes had a brother, Joseph, who married a lady called Josie around 1920 - 30. Mary Keyes parents were Thomas Keyes and Thomason (?) Keyes, nee McMullen, formerly Todd.

If anyone has any information, especially James Henry Cairns' siblings and parents, I'd be interested to hear from them.
