Calladine clan Heanor We can tracethe majority of familes with a Calladine surname to one couple, Thomas, born 1719 in Aston on Trent, and his bride Sarah Parkin, from Nottingham, who settled here some time after thier marriage of September 17, 1743, at St Marys in Nottinigham. Thomas must have been working here as a batchelor, becuse he is listed as a resident of Heanor in the parish registers. Thomas seems to have moved into this area because his mother, Elizabeth Leverstich was from nearby West Hallem. The two main occupations were Frame Work Knitting, and Mining. the frame work knitters were destitute with the introduction of trousers, and so moved into the city of Nottingham in the 1850s finally settling in Snienton.
