Michael Carrigan born 1826 in Ireland, married Barbey Murphy (born 1831), also born in Ireland. Lived in various parts of northumberland. They're daughter Mary was my great grandmother, who died during a snowstorm, near Rothbury, Northumberland. Does anyone have any recollections, or can tell me how to find out where in Ireland Michael & Barbey came from (presumably during the potato famine)?

you probably have this info but as you can see Michael came from County Mayo, so did Barbara.

Thank you to all of you who gave me the census information on Michael Carrigan & Barbara nee Murphy. I am delighted to have found out where in Ireland they were from. Need to go & look up some Co Mayo history now! Anyone help?
