Hi I am trying to look into the history of the Collier side of my family. My grandad Alfred Collier was born in Burton-on-Trent December 1882 to Francis Collier c1855-1914 and Harriet Bateman c 1855-1903. He had siblings Amos c 1880 Lilly 1884 (married Samuel Kirk) and Ethel c 1888. I know nothing of either Amos or Ethel. in 1901 they all lived at 20 Dale Street, B.O.T. together with Susanna Redfern who is the mother of the Head ie Francis and a Widow. Would love to hear from anyone who can tell me about Amos, Ethel and why Susanna's name is now Redfern and not Collier. Think Francis may have been the child of William and Mary with siblings Henry, Lydia, William, Thomas, John, Edwin and charles (1841 cencus). Thanks Ann |
