I am trying to find the family of my grandfather James Sidney Collins (known as Sidney) born Walsall abt 1891. His father was Thomas Collins.James is probably listed on census info as Sidney -his marriage cert shows he married edith Eliza Charlotte harcombe in 1915 in London.
The story he always told his daughter was that he came from Walsall and had so many siblings he couldn't remember all their names but she thinks there may have been a Thomas or patrick. he said they were so poor they sat on boxes and that at the age of 12 he ran away and never returned.My mum in her 80's is still desperate to find some info on his family. I have found a possible in a workhouse but don't have enough definite info to be sure it is him. Any help appreciated.
