I am interested in finding out about my Dad's background. I am not sure how much information it is possible to find out since I don't have much to go on. He was born PETER COOK (or COOKE) in Hampshire, and was adopted shortly after by my Grandparents Lily and Victor Knowles. He was given their surname. His full name was PETER JAMES KNOWLES, I am not sure if he had already been given the middle name James by his birth parents or not. His date of birth was November 6th 1960. I am new to this site and am not sure where to start in order to find out about my Dad's birth family, but any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Emma.
