Trying to find Copeland

Jenny Report 7 Jun 2006 19:57

Hi, I am trying to trace a mystery. My husband's paternal grandfather was Henry or Harry Albert Copeland, born Kennington? London in approx 1860? He met Alice Bisicar whilst working in a large house in Ware,Hertfordshire as a gardener, she was an underhouse maid. They had a child Sydney Leslie Copeland born in 1908 at Egham,Windsor and we are not sure if they married.Alice Bisicar married a Mr Dupuy in 1912 in Kensington. Alice died in 1943 in Romford,Essex. Henry or Harry Copeland is recorded as deceased in 1935 when Sydney Copeland married my husband's mother Ivy Crisp. Sydney Copeland died in 1966. We have been unable to trace any details of Henry/Harry Copeland or of Alice Bisicar/Dupuy/Copeland. We do know that Henry/Harry had a sister Emma Copeland who married William Kentfield in1896 at Windsor, they had a son Sydney F Kentfield in 1897, but again unable to find further trace. Any help gratfully received. Jenny Copeland

If this is the case and quite often surnames changed, here is a possible birth for Alice.
