UP DATE My Greatgrandfather was a Thomas Davies and was dead by 1905 when his son James, my grandfather got married. My Greatgrandfather was a Walter Elliott was a miller by occupation and came from Claycross area of Chesterfield. There are also a T Elliott and a W Elliott both served in the West Yorkshire Regiment in the 1st World War. W Elliott died in the war On the 1901 census there are four James Davies' two were farmers sons and the other two were sons of moners and worked in the pits. Aged 17 at the time. My Grandfather was a James Davies and I wonder if anyone could tell me if one of the above moved to Sheffield. Grandad married Annie Elliott who's family came from the Chesterfield area. They had several children John William, my father, was born in 1923. Can anyone out there please help Thanks Joyce Davies
