Hi,

I believe that my GGF Jenkin Davies may have been the grandson of David and Martha Davies of Caerhos,Cilcennin as shown on the 1861 census.

I have been informed by the Ceredigion Archives that David and Martha had the following children.

Jenkin 1817--died-1829
Elinor 1819
Mary 1821
Lewis 1823 (?died 1902)
Martha 1825
David 1827
Anne 1933
Catherine ?1836

I know that Martha was converted to a Mormon by her husband John Griffiths Timothy and the family emigrated to Vernal Utah. An elderly relative can remember an American Mormon relative coming over to stay (Possibly with an Annie Gibbs nee Davies)/?1960 ish

I think that my GGF Jenkin Davies had the following siblings Martha c1850 and Thomas c1856. It appears that their mother Mary was unmarried.(Jenkins father is stated on his marriage certificate as Jenkin Davies)

Martha may have married a John Lewis and settled in Llannon and had a daughter called Mary c1874.

If any of this sounds familiar please get in touch.
Many thanks
Amanda
