Hello my name is Karen and I am looking for any family or those with any information on my ggggrandfather Alfred Thomas Davis b. 1858 in Maidstone, Kent. He married Mary Jane Hopper of Canterbury, Kent. Alfred and Mary Jane were m. 17/12/1879 in Medway Kent Alfred was in the army and was posted to Bangalore, India where they a daughter Florence Gertrude Davis. When posted to Malta they had Ernest Robert b. 21/12/1889 by this time he was a sergent (Sappers and Miners RE) They returned to England and had Herbert Richard in 1896 Medway, Kent and in 1901 were running a pub. Any help and or information would be very helpfull as I cannot trace Alfred or his dad Richard Davis (mariner) in any of the census but 1901. Regards Karen.
