I have just had my grandmother's (Joyce Davison) birth certificate today which tells me that she was born in 1928 in Last Lane,Dover,Kent, and her Mother's name was Ellen Davison formerly Hoare.
Unfortunately the father's name has been left blank.
I have found a marriage between an Ellen Hoare - Henry Davison in Q1 of 1913 registered in Dover.
My problem is the next step I take - I am not sure when & where they were born or when they died. Maybe obtaining the marriage certificate but its always at a cost! Is there anyway of looking without having to buy the certificate??
I have searched trees but with no success... I am really frustated!

Any Help/advice would be really appreciated.

in a search of Kent for 1901 there are 8 Ellen Hoares, but only that one is living in Dover.

The only sure way is to buy the marriage cert to confirm the fathers's name - anything else is really guesswork. - talking from experience. I thought I had traced my grandmother back, even had marriages and births of her siblings ans nieces and nephews.

When I eventually got her marriage cert - I had been tracing her cousin - same name born two years apart.
