Do you have a birthplace for Henry that would help with finding them both in 1901?

Dea

Dea Report 16 Jul 2008 08:48

Considering Frederick John Wilks Davison's middle name, - I believe this would be the marriage of George's parents:

Marriages Mar 1859
Davison John Leeds 9b 356
Wilks Elizabeth Leeds 9b 356

Wow fantastic you guys are! Thank You!

As for Henry Davison - son of George

born around 1892

he got married in 1913 to Ellen Hoare at Dover Registry Office.

It stated on his marriage cert his occupation - Lance Corporal , 1st Battalion, Kings Own Royal, Lancaster Regiment.

Somebody did find me his medal roll card on Ancestry.

Cannot find a death for him or any more other info on him.

Regards

Donna

Donna

The only George Ernest Davison that appears on FreeBMD is the one you found in 1862, but as we can't find either George or Henry in 1901 or a sign of a marraige or birth I am just a bit uneasy on presuming this is the correct George.

Particularly as Henry would appear to be born the year after George was single. This doesn't mean that it is incorrect but it would be useful to find another check other than George's middle name. I will continue to look

I am with you on this Kay,

I am happy that what we have found does all follow through, but I am NOT happy that this George Edgar is the father of Henry until we can find another link !

I will dig around a bit more!

Thank you both for your help with this !

I agree with you about being uncertain on George Edgar.

Where are they on the 1901 census?

Completely baffled!

Can't find death registration for a George Edgar Davison

This is the only George E

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deaths Dec 1919 (73%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Davison George E 51 Durham 10a 448

Dea

Dea Report 16 Jul 2008 11:01

It does actually say George EDGAR doesn't it, and not George E ?

The only possible death I can find in Leeds is a George William age 36 in 1898, but if the Edgar is quite clear on the cert, this is unlikely to be the one.

As in Pam post above,, the only other possibles I can find are around the Durham area - there are 4 in and around that area betwen 1898 and 1911, but I really don't think any are yours.

Thanks for your reply Pam,

On his son Henry's marriage cert in 1913 it does state fathers name and (deceased) underneath,
so I believe he died 1913 or before.

I have still found nothing !

K

K Report 16 Jul 2008 11:13

I wonder if he died pre 1901 and Henry's mother remarried - Henry may come under his mother's new name in the census. Or the couple may never have married
