The information I have is as follows.

Charles Percival Day aged 21 married 1939 to Elizabeth Buck aged 19. This gives birth years of

1918 for Charles Percival Day and a birth year of 1921 for Elizabeth Buck. Charles from Southport and Elizabeth from Birkdale a sub-district of Southport . Unforuntely I am unable to see anyone related to these families who are a member of genes reunited.

Possibly a sister for Elizabeth?

Southport is in the Ormskirk registration district - this is the only Charles Day born in the Ormskirk district after 1900

Births Dec 1913 (>99%)
Day Charles A Williams Ormskirk 8b 1580

Have you got the information from the marriage certificate? In which case, does it say Southport as his residence? That isn't necessarily where he was born and his birth is more than likely the one found by Artbeat

Mark

CherryBlossom Report 9 Apr 2009 14:50

That's cool - the marriage registration I gave you earlier for Elizabeth's parents is the correct one.

If you want to go back further on that line you could order the marriage certificate to see who their father's were.

I've got to go off-line for a while now - making aromatherapy lotions and potions with a friend's grand-daughter. I'll come back to this later.

Have you had a look at freeBMD to see if you can find a marriage between Charles Day and a female Buxton sometime before 1918? That will give you the name of Charles' mother.

I'll check in later and see how you're doing.

many thanks for new info

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 9 Apr 2009 17:08

From the census information given by Wilma, and the fact that Charles Thornily is down as being her brother then this could be the marriage registration for Charles P Day and Harriet

Marriages Mar 1884 (>99%)

Day George Geeson Basford 7b 256
SIMPSON Sarah Basford 7b 256
THORNELY Harriet Basford 7b 256
WATKINSON John Basford 7b 256

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 9 Apr 2009 17:12

This is probably the father's birth registration

Births Sep 1857 (96%)
Day George Beeson Belper 7b 386

I would recommend that you do verify this by purchasing marriage certificates, at the very least - just to make sure you're on the right track.

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 9 Apr 2009 17:14

And possibly Harriet's birth registration

Births Sep 1851 (>99%)
THORNELY Harriet Basford 15 459

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 9 Apr 2009 17:23

This looks like a possible candidate for George Day's death, given that Wilma found Harriet as a widow in 1901.

Deaths Mar 1898 (>99%)
