Hi Can anyone help. I am tryimg to trace my relation named James Dodds who was know to be serving in the army probably Royal Artilliery or the Devonshire Regiment stationed in Exeter in 1933/34 with the rank of Sargeant, I do not know a date of birth but would guess around 1905 to 1915. If anyone can shed any light on this person it would be much appreciated.

Is there anything else you know about him? His parents' names would be really useful. If you say what relation he is to you, and what family members you share, that could also help.

Mostly what we strangers can do is find information about his ancestry rather than his present-day doings, but that info could help locate family members like siblings and such. So if you know his parents' names, or even one of them, or even first names, it might be possible to identify their marriage and other children they had -- unless you already know these things!

Oh -- and any places, as well as dates -- where he might have been born, for instance -- can help.
