This site has been helpful in finding my mat grandfather`s side so now I`m looking at my paternal side. My paternal grandfather was William Dyke d.o.b.07.09.1898 in Merthyr Tydfil. The scrappy birth cert I have suggests his father was Joseph Dyke (no d.o.b.) and his mother was Ann Evans (again no d.o.b.) who appears to have been resident at 11 Elim Street Penydarren Merthyr Tydfil. My grandfather died on 15.11.77 and the couple had two sons, William Eric (my father) and his brother Gwynfor. My paternal grandmother was France Mary Elizabeth Howe (d.o.b. 10.11.1912) born Whitecroft, West Dean. Her mother is recorded as Winifred Howe. No father`s name on the birth cert. Winifred was reported to be a Domestic general servant. Any info would be more than welcome thanks Michele
