Potty Report 7 Oct 2010 15:35

Can you give us some place names please? Country, county, town.

Also, do you have birth dates for the children? and the marriage date and place?

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 7 Oct 2010 15:35

William Evans is a very common name. You need to start by buying a copy of his marriage certificate to discover his fathers name to narrow down the possibilities.

Sandra Report 7 Oct 2010 16:01

david was born 1912 not sure about the rest of the children he was born in maesteg wales. dont know when they married

FannyByGaslight Report 7 Oct 2010 16:06

And do you have his birth cert for the address on it and his fathers occupation?

Sandra

Sandra Report 7 Oct 2010 16:09

sorry yesmiddle name was emmanuelle
and the address was magazine street
fathers occupation was coal hauler

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 7 Oct 2010 16:22

I dont see William Evans on Magazine Street on 1911.
Does it have a number?

Some dates for the other 2 children would help a lot as there are at least 3 marriages in Bridgend district alone for William Evans and Elizabeth Thomas that may be them before 1912

A shame William and Elizabeth dont have second names ..

Do you have second names for any of the other children?

Sandra

Sandra Report 7 Oct 2010 16:33

FannyByGaslight Report 7 Oct 2010 16:47

So Elizabeth was Elizabeth Ann Thomas and Dilys/Dylis was born maybe 1910?

Then this marriage MAY be theirs

Marriages Jun 1908
Evans William Bridgend 11a 1457
Thomas Elizabeth Ann Bridgend 11a 1457

I will look on 1911 again for them now..

Putting this here in case it MAY be them. But it does seem to say Doris and not DylisDilys annie on the original image.

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 7 Oct 2010 18:53

This marriage can be requested from Bridgend reg office with the priviso that the brides fathers name is Emannuel maybe.?Probably cost £10 from them and a personal service..

Marriages Jun 1908
Evans William Bridgend 11a 1457
Thomas Elizabeth Ann Bridgend 11a 1457

Or you can just send for it from here and hope that it is the correct one.

http://www.gro.gov.uk

for £9.25p.

I have no chance of finding William Evans as I can not find him and Elizabeth for sure on 1911 I am afraid,so the marriage cert is needed for his fathers details(if he knew them).

Fingers xsed that it is the correct marriage.

If you do get it and want more help please come back here and dont start another post as all the info is here to work on....

Fan

Good luck with the marriage cert.

A Jones family at that address on 1911,so they have moved from there by 1911.

What is Father Davids occupation please?
How old does William say he is and what is his occupation?

Are the witnesses any of the Evans family?

Back in a bit gotta go do things for about an hour..
