I think this is your Barbara in 1881:
Aspatria, Cumberland
Barbara Henderson, head, widow, 44, general servant, born Barbados?, British Subject
William R. Henderson, son, 14, coal miner, born Cockermouth, Cumberland

In 1871 there's a William R. Henderson, age 4, born Cockermouth who was a nurse child, i.e. foster child in home of William & Catherine Veitch, Whitehaven, Cumberland.
I think Barbara and her husband were possibly seperated or maybe she was a widow by then even though she says she's married on the 71 census.

Thankyou, Margaret for this additional info.

Yes that is Ritson Frears at Charlton Dockyards in 1841, on the way back to Cumbria after leaving Bermuda.

Barbara was widowed or deserted or something very early on, her son was fostered at Cockermouth while she worked at Muncaster Castle.

Then they moved to Aspatria, and William married in 1888.

Frances.
