I am trying to find information about my GGG Grandfather Henry Godfrey. In the 1841 census he was in the Workhouse in Great Yarmouth aged 6. The only other Godfrey's in the Workhouse were young boys who I think may be his brothers they are:

Benjamin Godfrey aged 5 (abt 1836)
William Godfrey aged 8 (abt 1833)
John Godfrey aged 11 (abt 1830)
Robert Godfrey aged 15 (abt 1826)

It would be nice if anyone has any information on these boys after 1841.

Also I know that Henry moved to Hull in late 1850's and married a Hull women called Mary Ann Bowen in 1861 he was a fisherman. I have got a copy of their marriage certificate which states that his father was Robert Godfrey Occupational Labourer.

If anyone has any information on his father Robert or who was his mother. It would be nice to find out why they were in the workhouse alone.

Any information on this family would be appreciated as I have come to grinding halt with this family.

Thanks

Linda

Hi Linda
I have a Henry Godfrey in my tree but he was not born until 1874, he lived in Surrey at some point then moved to Co Durham. I don't suppose he is any relative to you but I thought I would mention it in case. Pat
