Find Ancestors

Please could sombody help me find the birth certifcate for Lilian Mary H Greaves who died Mar Q 1904, Woodstock aged 0. Her father is definately my G-grandfather but i want to find out who her mother was. My G-grandfather was Ralph Henry Handley-Greaves and he was supposed to have married Kaziah Wilkes but I have not found a marriage cert for them either. Any help would be appreciated.

looks like only her death was recorded , maybe she died very soon after birth so only her death was recorded

Ralph died in the April quarter of 1925 and there is a probate dated 1925, if you can hold a copy of the will it might help you.

She was about 9 mths old and died of spina bifida.

How do I find out about the will? Where do I go?

there must have been other children so getting one of their birth certs will help

Ah, 9 months old so her birth should have been registered ,have you looked under Wilkes

My grandads birth cert shows the correct parents as we know them but I don't think they were ever married. We were always led to believe that Ralph Henry was disinherited because he went off with the maid so Lilian may not have the same mother as my grandad.

I have just answered my own question. Been on 1911 and on there it states that my G-G parents had 2 children and one was now dead. So Lilians parents are the same as my Grandads.

Was Handley-greaves his birth name or just greaves as both Ralph and Lillian are on the bmd's under G, Ralphs father William was also a H Greaves

it looks like they didnt register her birth!
