Our ancestors were the Jute Chieftains; Hengist and Horsa who first landed in kent after the Romans had left. Thety were employed by a Briton chieften to help fight the invading Picts and welsh. After a double cross by the Briton. They killed the british cheiftain and set up kingdom in kent. the daughter of hengist, was named Rowena, who married into the British tribe as part of a tie deal. Horsa was later killed in battle, His name transalte=Horse. hengist+ stallion. Its hengist name who we derive our surname haines from.
