My Hamilton Ancestors lived in Stonehouse Lanarkshire from at least 1740 to 1830's. Interested in hearing from any Hamiltons who go back that far in the Stonehouse area.

Hi Kathleen, I have Hamilton ancestors from Lesmahagow which is close to Stonehouse. The graveyard at Stonehouse is full of old headstones bearing the Hamilton surname. Well known is Patrick Hamilton from Stonehouse, a Covenantor who was killed for his beliefs. Regards Moira
