JAMES HINDLEY. Does anyone have any information on James (Jim) Hindley from Macclesfield? He had a pub called The Hole in the Wall in ??Park Lane, Macclesfield. I think he married someone called Marge/Margaret.He had a son called Peter. Any info would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

He probably married Margaret Goodwin in 1992 in Macclesfield, from the info you have given.

However, no James Hindley living with Margaret Hindley or Goodwin appears on the electoral roll since 2002.

Are these people family, Jennifer? I may have found some other info, but as it is identifying personal info about someone else I would not want to put it on the board without them knowing, in keeping with site policy here.

Jim Hindley was my husbands father, but his mother didn't tell him who he was until he was in his twenties (in the 60's), Jim, however, knew all about him, and so did his wife. Wouldn't want to upset anyone though. We are just doing our trees together, and it would have been nice to have filled his up for him, it's sad that he never knew him while he was growing up. A little history would have been nice.

I imagine the 1992 marriage would not be him, then, if your husband was born c1940?

Possibly a grandson.

... I see on a tree search that you have him in your tree and know his birth year.

Hello,
I have had sent to me a copy of births in Macclesfield for 1923, and it shows a James Hindley born 5/10/1923 to Joe and Ethel Hindley. Ethel is stated as being Bracegirdle formerly, and they lived at 1 Crew Avenue. I don't even know if this is the right James, but I think it could be.
